SeaQuest are delighted to be partners of the Porthcawl Seascape Project for this fantastic FREE event on Saturday 27th October at Sandy Bay. The event is an epic day at the seaside celebrating the two powerful forces of Fire and Water. Packed with family fun for all ages there are beach activities, displays and performances throughout the day.
The day kicks off with a world record attempt to get 200 surfers all riding the same wave. The current world record stands at 120 surfers – can we do better?
Throughout the afternoon SeaQuest and National Marine Aquarium South Wales are hosting family fun beach activities including toasting marshmallows, building shelters, creating a microbead mosaic out of litter collected from the beach and you can get hands-on with real marine artefacts. Sker and Pink Bay Surf Life Saving Club will be providing a flags demonstration and you can join in a Welly-Wanging competition – how far can you throw a welly?
The event continues with a SeaQuest Night Surf – come along and watch the fun. The grand finale is an amazing performance by Flame Oz an award-winning, world-travelled fire dance show provided by the Awen Cultural Trust followed by an after-dark firework spectacular at the Hi Tide.
There’s also time to explore Porthcawl throughout the day – immerse yourself in the water sports virtual reality experience at Trecco Bay or take a selfie with the giant PORTHCAWL sign at Rest Bay (we’re looking forward to seeing all your fantastic pictures on Facebook and Twitter – don’t forget to tag your pictures #DiscoverPorthcawl)
