SeaQuest Coastal Science & Discovery
Discover the world around you with SeaQuest!
We are passionate about the outdoor environment and ignite children's curiosity by providing the opportunity for them to explore and discover the natural world in a fun, safe way.
We know how important it is for children to be outside. There are immediate benefits to Outdoor Learning for schools, especially during the current Coronavirus pandemic, including:
- Time outdoors has a positive impact on student health and wellbeing, including mental health
- Engaging children in a new and exciting way to help transition from home learning to school
- Making use of school grounds or local spaces for appropriate social distancing
- Progressive learning experiences with the potential to connect home and school education
Outdoor Learning develops healthy, curious and active kids who are better connected to the environment. That's why, as members of the Institute for Outdoor Learning, we get children out of the classroom and into your school grounds to discover more about the world around them, learn new skills and have fun in the fresh air!
We use the natural environment to develop skills that will be used both in the classroom and in everyday life. We provide real experiences through which each child will develop their own lifelong learning skills and appreciation, love and respect of the world around them. We create an outdoor classroom in your school grounds, using our mobile facilities and resources and taking the strain away from your teaching staff!
In school, the current government Covid-19 guidelines have been built into our working policies. Our resources and equipment are cleaned thoroughly between uses. Our risk assessments are bespoke to your school and we will discuss with you before sessions. Where outdoor space is in short supply we can work with you to determine an alternative offsite location.
New Programmes Developed in Response to Covid-19 Guidelines
As part of our response to the current Coronavirus pandemic, we have put together a new programme of events, with a distinct set of health & safety and working policies that reflect the most up to date government guidelines regarding dealing with Covid-19 in the education environment. For more information on how we can help your school get pupils back in safely and begin 'learning to learn' again, please go to our Schools page.
