Credu Charity is delighted to have received an award in the 2018 Welsh Enterprise Awards for the Best Regional Economic Regeneration Project South Wales. The Award is in recognition of The Maritime Centre Project, SeaQuest Coastal Science and Education Programme and Porthcawl Harbour Marine Services Project.
Credu Chief Executive Mark Bryant said, “This is a proud moment for us and I would like to thank all of the team for their magnificent efforts, as well as our supporters and partners who have helped to make this possible. The project is gaining momentum and is already providing benefits to the local community and it is hugely gratifying for us to be part of Porthcawl’s transformation.”
Harbour Quarter Porthcawl is an inspirational and innovative project with outcomes linked to public, private and third sectors. SeaQuest has had a very busy summer delivering learning and development sessions on coastal science to children, uniform groups and families throughout South Wales. TS Dragon is open, providing a promotional and events hub for the project, as well as housing Porthcawl Sea Cadets during their transition to their new home. With the demolition of the old Sea Cadets building currently underway and the recent installation of a 10 tonne boat crane, the Marine Services branch is bringing new employment opportunities, as well as increasing the capacity of Porthcawl Marina.
Construction of the Maritime Centre and the next phase of the project is expected to commence before the end of 2018.
