Our Workshops

Coastal Crusader

Experience a hands-on day at the beach investigating and classifying your marine litter findings.  Discover how it is affecting coastal environments, how it got there and what we can do to help protect our marine life.  To complete the learning about the marine environment, pupils will take part in a fun interactive beach safety experience.

Beach Discovery

Join us at the beach to discover the unique habitats.  Together we will rock pool, play games to learn about what animals need to do to survive in their habitat.  Through beach art pupils will identify and record their discoveries about life in the rock pool.  To complete the learning about marine environment, pupils will take part in a fun interactive Beach safety experience.

Beach Skills

An exciting hands-on day at the beach for students, the day begins by discussing the safety procedures needed to carry out our beach activities; pupils then take part in 3 activities:

Activity 1 - Pupils are shown the correct way to build a fire and dispose of it leaving no trace.

Activity 2 - Exploring different ways to build a shelter, why it is needed, and what makes an effective shelter.

Activity 3 - Exploring the beach discovering all it has to offer, looking at the tidal range and the natural materials found there.  The beach comb ends with students using the natural resources to create showcase artwork
